Her.E. Ambassador Alemtshay Meseret, #Ethiopia’s Ambassador resident in Uganda, has presented today (November 27) her letter of credentials to President Felix Tshisekedi, president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
At the occasion, Ambassador Alemtshay said Ethiopia attaches great importance to its relations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
She said the Ethiopian peacekeeping forces who have served in the Congo in the 1960s left their mark in the friendly relationship that exists between the two countries.
President Felix Tshisekedi, on his part, underlined that the two countries should further bolster their fraternal relationships with various engagements.
He also told the ambassador that he appreciates Ethiopia’s active role in the African Union.
The president also expressed his hope that the on-going law enforcement operation in Tigray would end soon, and long-lasting peace would reign in Ethiopia.
President Felix Tshisekedi underscored that the Ethiopian government has the duty and capability to enforce law and order in the country, which does not necessitate any external intervention.
