Four Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps to be set up in Tigray

The government announced that it is setting up four IDP camps in Tigray State.

The stations are said to be used by displaced Ethiopians from various parts of the region until they return to their villages.

The technical committee is monitoring the establishment of the stations, the office of the Prime Minister said, adding that humanitarian assistance has started to be distributed in the areas under the control of the Defense Forces.

The office issued a statement on the matter.

The statement said the government is committed to assisting the displaced people as soon as possible and is working to provide its humanitarian assistance in collaboration with the Ministry of Peace and other federal institutions.

The office also said that the first non-food aid has started to be distributed to civilians in the war-torn areas.

According to the committee's assessment, day-to-day support is needed and the main support will continue until the situation returns to normal.

The government has said it will continue to be more organized in ways prepared by the Ministry of Peace to support the returnees, the government said in a statement.
